After a hard days workout an active recovery day is more beneficial than opting to sit on the couch. Tough workouts damage your muscles so your body will need to rebuild and repair. Why delay the process? Take advantage of an easy day (especially when your gym programs it 😉). Light rowing, biking & stretching will keep the blood pumping. Open those arteries so that your heart can deliver all those nutrients to your muscles quicker. I see it all the time. The people who take advantage of the easy recovery day are locked and loaded for the next challenge while the people who hit the hard class then bounce for a few days are still sore and achy.
